National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. It’s typically celebrated on the first Tuesday of August in the United States.
The event encourages neighbors to engage with each other and their local law enforcement officers to foster a sense of community. The aim of National Night Out is to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.
Comer Construction participated in Harford County’s 2023 National Night Out festivities on August 1. We brought an assortment of our construction equipment for the kids to climb on and for display, including an excavator and Hydro Excavation truck.
Giveaways and Refreshments
Our giveaways included the very popular orange safety vests and construction hats for kids. If you were in attendance, you definitely saw tons of little construction workers throughout the event.
We also handled out t-shirts, goodie bags, and baseball caps. To combat the heat, we had team members making snowballs for the crowd as well.
Touch-a-Truck and Construction Sandbox
Throughout the event were large pieces of equipment for kids to explore from fire trucks and police vehicles to water rescue and other speciality equipment. Kids really liked climbing on our mini excavator and bulldozer. We also had sandboxes for the kids filled with construction trucks and shovels.
