Watching Comer Grow

David has had a front-row seat to Comer Construction’s growth over the years, from a small team of 10 employees to a thriving organization that once employed 150 people. He’s seen the company take on bigger clients and evolve into the industry leader it is today.

Reflecting on his time, David credits the supportive leadership of Marvin Comer and Susie for making his career so rewarding: “They’re good people who always worked things out. Their support helped me achieve things I never thought I could.”

An Unparalleled Work Ethic

Leadership at Comer describes David as someone who can tackle even the toughest challenges. Whether it was moving heavy equipment or helping the team get to bluegrass festivals, David always got the job done—and did it better than anyone else. His reliability and easygoing personality made him a beloved colleague and a key contributor to Comer’s success.

Their support helped me achieve things I never thought I could.

Lessons and Legacy

David’s advice for new employees is simple but powerful: “You have to like the job to be successful. If you don’t enjoy what you do, you won’t give it your best.”

He hopes to be remembered as someone who loved his work, supported his team, and always gave his best.

While he won’t miss the early 4 a.m. wake-up calls, he will undoubtedly miss the camaraderie and shared purpose he found at Comer Construction.
