- Location: Baltimore, MD
- Timing: September 2022 – March 2023
- Project Manager: Burt Miller
The Park School project involves combining two existing buildings to make one larger complex featuring a unique amphitheater.
Supporting general contractor Southway Builders, Comer Construction’s scope of work includes – but is not limited to – excavation, mass and fine grading, storm drain installation, sewer service and stormwater management.
We started with demolition of the current sidewalk patio and slope on the existing building to mass grade the site for retaining walls. Next we focused on stormwater management for walls, and commence building.
Comer Construction is installing storm drain piping and inlets for drainage, and we will backfill, regrade, fine grade and place stone for the concrete company to construct walls and sidewalks.
Grading & Excavation in Baltimore
As an expert in site grading and excavation, Comer Construction proudly maintains a multi-million dollar fleet of state-of-the-art equipment. Our crews are seasoned experts in earth-moving and the intricacies of proper grading – a vital aspect of projects such as what we are providing for The Park School.
Stormwater management, sediment control, mass excavation, rough and fine grading, fill dirt delivery and removal, land clearing and stabilization, and tree removal are routine for Comer Construction – a leading Maryland contractor for grading and excavation.
Sewer & Utility Work
Comer Construction ensures every underground utility project is completed with efficiency and precision.
We are a trusted and reputable Maryland utility contractor, providing service for sewer mains and connections, pump stations and draining systems, and utility conduits. We specialize in all scopes of work – large jobs and small – and the services underway at The Park School are examples of our capability for complexity.
Maryland Stormwater Management
Comer Construction partners with the Maryland Department of the Environment to ensure we have proper stormwater management controls in place for every job. Sediment and erosion control, bioretention facilities, detention and retention ponds, wetland restoration and bioswales, and underground stormwater management are critical in protecting the environment and clean water for surrounding communities.
Stormwater management is critical, especially for projects such as The Park School and its new amphitheater. Through proper stormwater management we protect not only the surrounding environment, but also the integrity of the new construction.
